Through Mountain Vista Rentals, Denny’s Caribou Lodge (DCL) is your family’s answer to experience the 4 Rs — recreation, relaxation, rest, and restoration! DCL is in a lovely spacious, wooded location where you’re sure to see many deer and other wildlife strolling outside the home. Named after our late father and grandfather, this place would have been a dream getaway for him. Be sure to pay homage to his friend, Caribou Lou, whom he brought back from Alaska back in the mid-80s!
Bedrooms & Accessibility
This 2,600+ square-foot, 4-bedroom, 3½-bathroom vacation home has master suites on the entry level and second floor as well as a queen and a queen/full bedroom and bath on the lower level. DCL comfortably sleeps 10 guests. If a member of your group has a difficult time getting about, take heart in its relatively easy accessibility — with only 2 short steps from the garage or top of the driveway to enter the entry-level living area.
Note: there are 2 twin-size blow-up mattresses in the loft as well.
Pet & Kid Friendly
If you’re bringing your dog, you’ll not find another totally enclosed space in Big Canoe more pooch friendly. Your furry friend can freely roam about the backyard, screened-in porch, and wrap-around deck. Fido will love it! Plus, it keeps the toddlers in as well. With high-end amenities and conveniences throughout, it’s easy to make memories with loved ones at this mountain getaway.
Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances and includes every gadget you’ll need to prepare your favorite gourmet meal. Or simply toss something on the grill. Sip your morning coffee in the sunlight-filled dining room, kibitz over cocktails at the kitchen island, or take your meal outside to the screened-in porch, deck, or patio.
We apologize for providing so many options. Just don’t fight over who gets to sit on the porch swing! We think we have all the stemware required for your favorite adult beverage. If you choose to eat out, there are many options — including the Bear Claw Pub at the fabulous Big Canoe clubhouse and several unique local eateries.
When it comes to recreation for the whole family, there is a plethora of opportunities. Within minutes in the Big Canoe Community, you can hit the links at the 27-hole golf course, leisurely cruise on Lake Petit, go fishing, swim at the lakeside beach club or community pools, or hike 20+ miles of woodland trails. There are also amphitheater concerts, massages at the wellness center, plus bocce, pickleball, and tennis courts!
While some community amenities in Big Canoe are free, others may require an on-site fee — please note this is not included in the rental price.
Just outside of Big Canoe, GA, you’ll have even more things to do. Hike a bit of the Appalachian Trail (less than 25 minutes away), rides horses, shop for souvenirs, attend seasonal events, or race go-karts at the Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville. You can also drive to one of several unique mountain towns — including Blue Ridge, Ellijay, Helen, and Dahlonega. Planning a wedding? There are numerous wedding venues within a few miles of Big Canoe!
When you get back to the cabin, flip on one of 2 big screen TVs with your favorite streaming service, work on a puzzle in the loft, get out a deck of cards, or download and listen to your favorite podcast — thanks to the blazing-fast Wi-Fi. Did we mention there’s a blender and margarita glasses at the house plus several wineries and a few craft breweries are within an hour of the cabin?
