Thoughtfully Designed, Pure Relaxation!
The original art throughout the cabin and attention to detail really made me feel as if I am staying in someone’s beloved home. We camped out on the front porch just about the entire stay – sleeping, talking, reading, enjoying the sound of the rain on the tin roof. It was everything my soul needed! We had a beautiful sunny day spent on the lake and then rainy day spent relaxing and hiking. It was the perfect mix and just what I needed!
Relaxed and Rejuvenated at Respite
I can’t say enough about the beauty and peacefulness of this cabin. The cabin was spacious, clean, and the decor was so thoughtful and cozy. You can tell there was a lot of love put into each detail from top to bottom. Respite was the perfect choice for our group with its open kitchen and large living room area. And the front porch with a comfy swing and totally covered sitting area made for a lovely rainy morning coffee spot. I visited the cabin for a girls weekend and can’t wait to return with my family. Big Canoe is a wonderful community with something for everyone. Wether an adult getaway, or a retreat with the kiddos, this is your spot. So many amenities. Definitely made the drive from Nashville more than worth the trip. We had dinner at the lodge one night which was also a great experience. The service and meal were outstanding. Looking forward to returning and exploring more of what Big Canoe has to offer.
A fun, relaxing retreat
The moment I drove away from Respite Cabin, I was already planning my return trip. This is my 3rd visit to Big Canoe–GA’s best little secret–and I think I found my forever spot. A quiet, private lane leads to the cabin, bringing even more peace to the wooded retreat. Then there is the PORCH, where I could have spent all my time! We had some rain during our Labor Day weekend, and the tin roof porch made the drippy weather a wonderful addition rather than a hindrance to our plans! Our group of adults and kiddos naturally divided each day, with kids playing indoors and adults retiring to enjoy drinks on the porch, I think the architect magically devised this in the plans somehow! The open A-frame floor plan allowed our gang to cook amazing meals together, spread out, enjoy the wooded surroundings, even listen to some fun LPs on the record player. LOVE. THIS. CABIN. It is at once home and mountain vacation and porch swing paradise. Is it time to go back for another Respite?
