Escape Hatch

This is a lovely property and perfect for accommodating a family. Great location, clean, and comfortable screened porch. Communication was very efficient. Will definitely have this on my list for a repeat.

The place was great! The owners were very accommodating with our dogs when we had last minute changes. As other reviews mentioned, the driveway is steep and although we managed it just fine, it did deter us from driving too much. That said, the house was extremely spacious for our family over thanksgiving to spread out and hang out and there are hiking trails within walking distance from the house. It’s a cute neighborhood with good views and we had deer in our backyard the first morning! Overall would recommend.

The cabin was just as described with a great seasonal view. Plenty of space and was actually more than my girlfriend and I needed. Very quiet and private. The only drawback is a steep driveway.

The Escape Hatch home was just divine air was so homey and the outdoor look towards the mountains are to die for; so relaxing! We originally came from Florida to get away from the storm, but it was the mini getaway we needed to just relax, breathe in the mountain air and enjoy our surroundings. Everyone at Big Canoe are so friendly and helpful. We will most definitely be back!

This house was exactly what we needed for sweet memories to be made. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Management was easy to contact and arrived promptly when needed. We had a blast at the lake with tons of fun things to do. As one other commenter said, the driveway is really steep and some car shuffling is needed but we made it in and out each day just fine (just drive out the driveway going forward and not in reverse).

A Cozy Retreat Amidst Nature's Beauty! Our stay exceeded all our expectations. We were looking for a peaceful escape from city life, and this property delivered. Nestled in the heart of Big Canoe, the drive from Atlanta was just under 1.5 hours. There was ample parking for our 3 vehicles. The natural surroundings offered a beautiful backdrop to our golf outings. The tranquil setting truly felt like our own private retreat. The escape from urban living was exactly what we needed to unwind and reconnect with nature. Accommodating our party of 8, the space was thoughtfully designed and furnished. We made the most of the well-equipped amenities. It was nice to grill against Georgia’s picturesque landscape and the fun poker table added a touch of excitement to our evenings. The comfortable beds and pillows ensured that each night was restful and rejuvenating, setting us up for full days of exploration and relaxation. We can’t wait to return!

The beds were comfortable. The house was clean. The view was beautiful. We enjoyed siting on the deck in the afternoons. The only negative was the drive way is very steep.

Nice comfy place in a beautiful mountain community.

Very nice and spacious. All the rooms were nicely decorated and the bedding and bath linens were good as well. Nice deck with a good view. Two minor drawbacks. One is that the oven didn't work (but the stove top did). Not a major problem. The other was the steepness of the driveway. Every time entering or exiting was an 'adventure'. Luckily we had clear and dry weather.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. The ride up to is was just breathtaking due to all the Fall Foliage. It was great that the road were paved. The home was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the neutral color scheme and natural decorations and art. The view was amazing and could be seen from most all the windows. Adequate linen (towels) and kitchen supplies. We had an issue that Kim responded to immediately. It did not negatively impact our stay and we thank her for her attentiveness. The driveway from the road down to the cabin is quite steep. We would recommend arriving BEFORE dark so you can navigate it well. We highly recommend this space and look forward to visiting Big Canoe (where it's housed) again as there are many walking trails and other outdoor activities to engage in.

The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and had plenty of room for different sleeping arrangements and several common areas to relax in. However, the driveway was incredibly steep compared to others we saw on property. Our SUV struggled to climb the steep hill and our frame actually scraped the pavement trying to get out. Future guests should be aware of this prior to booking so they can plan accordingly. Also, it is important to note that there is only room for one car to park with adequate space to turn around. I did not see that noted anywhere in the booking. We loved this cabin, but would not choose to book again based on the driveway issue.

While sufficient in layout and decor, this home appeared like it had not been attended to in long time. Upon arrival, we had to vacuum the entire house due to dead scorpions and other bugs and cobwebs. We plugged in air fresheners to remove stagnant smell. Bedrooms had single curtain panels that laughably covered 2/3rds of the sliders. Second bathroom sink dribbled hot water. The jacuzzi shower head was a joke, dribbling water like a garden hose without a sprayer. Oh yeah, there was a large hole in the wall where the smoke detector used to be in the living room. We were only there a weekend and had to restock toilet paper. Do not rely on the provided teeny tiny bath soaps. On the positive side, the bedding was comfy and appliances worked. We were there for a family wedding. Recommend management company do final check before renting.

Air conditioner and garbage disposal were broken - it took over 24 hours to get air working only after 5 calls. Person even said I make a note regarding compensation for the inconvenience. When I called after getting home I was offered a free night somewhere (I don't plan to stay again) or $100. After renting two houses for 3 nights and with all the trouble I encountered I think I should have been compensated in for one night in cash (Visa). Also it should be stated the driveway was almost straight down and Had I know it would be so difficult; I would never have rented it
